The prosecution has submitted formal charges to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in the murder case of Abu Sayed, a Begum Rokeya University student who was shot dead during the July uprising in Rangpur. The charges were placed before the registrar's office of the tribunal-2 this morning.A hearing on the matter is scheduled to be held later in the day.
Prosecutor Gazi Monawar Hossain Tamim informed reporters covering the ICT via a WhatsApp message around 10:30am today that formal charges in the Abu Sayed murder case had been submitted to Tribunal-2.Sayed was killed on July 16 last year while taking part in a demonstration under the banner of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, sparking nationwide protests.
